Women Fitness – How to Overcome Barriers to Health and Well-Being

Women fitness is the health condition that enables a woman to achieve her physical potential and optimal level of well-being. Despite a lower participation rate than men in most forms of exercise, women can improve their overall health by overcoming barriers to activity.

Is working out attractive to girls?

Having a training partner, particularly a female, can be an effective way to increase the likelihood of a female completing a workout program. It also provides a sense of accountability and motivation for completing a workout routine.

Not having enough time for physical activities

In addition to balancing work, home and family commitments, many women find it hard to fit leisure time activities into their schedules due to a variety of factors, including a lack of time, a poor body image, and negative perceptions of safety. Increasing physical activity and decreasing sedentary behavior can decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes, anxiety disorders, depression, and menopause and increase quality of life.

Resistance training is also essential for maintaining muscle and bone strength as women age. This is important for preventing fractures, which alter a woman’s health, reduce her independence and limit her social and economic activities.

While it is important for all women to incorporate a variety of physical activity into their routines, it is especially critical for those with medical conditions such as diabetes or heart disease. In these cases, their physicians should be consulted before they start an exercise program.
